The Subtraction
Kodex
Every man trying to fix himself starts by adding. A supplement. A protocol. A morning routine he found at 1am. Then he wonders why nothing holds.
It doesn't hold because the thing doing the damage is still in the room. Subtraction comes first. Always has. This is the full framework the book only had space to introduce.

You Cannot Supplement
Your Way Out of a Wound
You Keep Reopening.
"Brand clarity, body clarity, mind clarity... they all come from removal. Not addition."
Walk into any health store and the entire business model is addition. Add magnesium. Add collagen. Add a greens powder that tastes like a lawn and costs like a steak.
Meanwhile the seed oils are still in the pan. The alcohol is still on Friday. The blue light is still on at 11pm. The relationship that drains you is still on the calendar every week.
The body is not asking for more. It's asking for less.
The Subtraction Kodex is the systematic version of that idea. Not a cleanse. Not a 30 day challenge. A framework for identifying what is actively costing you, in what order to remove it, and what to expect on the other side of each removal.
The Framework
Eight domains, sorted into three tiers by how strong the evidence is and how much it matters at ordinary exposure. The tiers are your order of operations, not a moral ranking.
Strongest evidence, meaningful risk at normal everyday use. Take these out and do not negotiate with them.
Real mechanisms, but dose dependent and individual dependent. Lower your exposure and watch how you respond.
Contested, incomplete, or only relevant at exposures most men never reach. Learn the names, choose deliberately, stop worrying.
Industrial seed oils, artificial trans fats, refined sugar in all its disguises, ultra processed builds, flavour enhancers. Then the dose-dependent tier: gluten grains, legumes, nightshades, high oxalate plants, soy, conventional dairy and feedlot meat.
Anything engineered to be drunk quickly. Plant milks and commercial creamers. Shakes built on seed oils and gums. Unfiltered municipal tap. Then alcohol, and the green juices that concentrate oxalates far past anything you would eat whole.
The cleanest food in the world can be ruined between the pan and the plate. Nonstick coatings, plastic meeting heat or fat, can linings, black plastic utensils, reactive metals against acid.
SLS, triclosan, artificial dyes, titanium dioxide, and the alcohol mouthwash scorching your oral microbiome nightly. Plus an honest position on the fluoride argument, including the parts that don't flatter either side.
The skin is not a wall. What you put on it daily for thirty years is a dose. Formaldehyde releasers, isothiazolinones, PFAS, phthalates, and the one word on a label that legally conceals dozens of compounds.
Quaternary ammonium compounds, aldehydes, glycol ethers, volatile respiratory irritants. Sprayed and inhaled is the worst form of all of them, and it's the form most men use daily without thinking.
Plug ins, aerosols, synthetic candles, and new furniture offgassing into a sealed house. Ventilation is free and it is the highest return intervention on this entire page. Plus what to filter, and why a hot shower is an inhalation event.
Specific to men, and worth its own list because the compounding is invisible until it isn't. None of it is dramatic on its own. That is precisely the point.
Removal without replacement fails. Fifteen swaps covering cooking fat, pans, storage, water, toothpaste, soap, deodorant, hair, sun, cleaning, laundry, air, sweeteners and milk. What actually goes in the empty space.
"Remove one item a week for a year and you will not recognise the man in the mirror."
