Every source, teacher, and rabbit hole worth your time behind The Gut Friendly Lifestyle Guide. Paperback can't hold live links. This page can.

Arrived here without the book? Even better. Nothing below assumes you've read a word of it. This is the map on its own terms... every source open, nothing locked, nothing sold to you.

Before You Go Wandering

Start Here.

What follows is a library, not a curriculum. Some of it is brilliant. Some of it is a decade old and still holds. Some of it contradicts other parts of it, which is exactly how a real field looks before the marketing department arrives and sands off the edges.

Read widely. Test on yourself. Keep what works. That's the entire method.

"Taking a suitcase full of old wisdom and unpacking it in a new age."
Section One

Foundations & Getting Started

If you're new to animal-based or carnivore eating, start in this group. These are the orientation documents... the "what is this, what do I actually eat, and what happens in week one" material.

Section Two

Doctors, Researchers & Clinicians

The people doing the actual clinical and academic work. Read these when you want the mechanism, not the testimonial.

Orthopedic Surgeon
Dr. Shawn Baker
carnivore.diet

World record holding, steak eating, backflipping carnivore and orthopedic surgeon. The loudest early voice in the modern movement and still one of the most tested.

Nutritional Psychiatry
Diagnosis Diet
Dr. Georgia Ede, MD

Harvard-trained psychiatrist on food and mental health. Her work on whether vegetables are necessary is the most rigorous treatment of that question anywhere.

tednaiman.com · P:E Ratio

Protein-to-energy ratio, body recomposition, and the intersection of diet and brief intense resistance training. Dense, visual, unusually practical. Fair warning, the site loads slowly.

Dr. Miki Ben-Dor, PhD

An archaeologist connecting human nutrition to human evolution across prehistory. This is where the "carnivorous by design" argument gets its hard evidence.

Long, well-cited explorations of specific carnivore topics. When you want one question answered thoroughly rather than the whole field summarized badly.

Deep Reading & Long-Form Blogs

For the men who don't want the summary. Some of these archives have been quiet for years. That does not make them less true... it makes them less noisy.

Philosophy · Ethics
Rhys Southan on Aeon
Oxford philosophy · former vegan

The ethics of eating animals argued properly by someone who lived inside veganism before leaving it. Start with "The Vegans Have Landed" and "Execution at Happy Farm." He steelmans both sides better than either camp does.

Questions Worth Asking

Do I need to give my email to access these resources?
No. Every link on this page is free and ungated. There is no email wall, no signup, and no paywall. It exists so readers of The Gut Friendly Lifestyle Guide can reach the sources directly. If you want deeper material, The Subtraction Kodex asks for an email. This page never will.
What is a carnivore or animal-based diet?
A carnivore or animal-based diet centres eating on animal foods: ruminant meat, organ meats, eggs, seafood, and animal fats, with plant foods reduced or removed. Most men use it to lower dietary inflammation, simplify digestion, and identify food triggers they'd never isolate otherwise. It is an elimination framework first and a long-term protocol second. Treat it that way.
Where should a beginner start with gut healing?
Start by removing what is damaging the gut lining before you add a single supplement. Almost everyone gets this backwards. They stack probiotics on top of the same inputs that wrecked them in the first place. The Gut Friendly Lifestyle Guide covers the sequence: subtraction first, then repair, then reintroduction.
Some of these links are years old. Why are they still here?
Because the work holds. A lot of the best thinking in ancestral nutrition happened between 2015 and 2020, before the space filled with supplement companies and content farms. An archive that stopped updating is not the same thing as an archive that was wrong. Where a site has genuinely gone dark or moved, it is labelled or the link points to the new home.
Is this medical advice?
No. The Primal Kodex publishes educational and philosophical content. It is not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and it does not replace care from a licensed physician or registered health professional. Read the full note below.

What Comes Next

The Book Was
the Beginning.

The Gut Friendly Lifestyle Guide gave you the map. The Subtraction Kodex goes considerably further... into what has to come out before anything you add will hold.
